This is a special show for me. In the early 90s, I was a sous chef for the Clyde’s in Columbia, Maryland. During my time as chef, Clyde’s opened a new restaurant next door called the Tomato Palace. I spent a lot of time with the staff at that restaurant too. When my foray into chefdom came to a close, I spent another year working as a waiter at the Tomato Palace. Today TP has been turned into a wonderful music hall called the Soundry. The stage is in the same location as the old wood-fired pizza oven … and oven I used to stand over quite often. On February 28th the Jose Ramirez Band will be burning the place up in a new way. I can’t wait.
